Location 1 : Fika Cafe - Swedish cafe at beach road
Fika Cafe is a Swedish cafe which is Hala . It is tucked away in a quiet spot along beach road, walking distance from lavender MRT. It is a two-story shophouse. The interior design of this unique cafe is cosy and beautiful - somehow reminds me of Xmas! If only I could hang my Xmas stockings for Santa at this awesome fireplace and collect the loot on boxing day.
Once we were almost done shooting at location one , groups of customers started strolling in. It was mostly the working class which consists of both expats and locals. There were a fair amount of regular patrons as well as new comers. I love the little details which they included in their interior design. For eg, the moose on the wall..
Pre-Shoot Preparation: Make-up and hair prep before the shoot. The air-con kept blowing in our direction, therefore, you could imagine the difficulties the make-up artiste faced in curling my hair!
Story Board - 2 girls presumably Thai (bubbly giggly and dramatic by nature) are excited to be in Japan! They are chilling out in a Japanese cafe after all the sight seeing, and are taking photos of themselves in kawaii poses with the decorated bling bling black berry phone to email their friends. It is targeted at the youngsters in Thailand to have a holiday in Japan.
Our candid moments and props... These shots were taken with my camera phone Nokia C5. I could edit the photos on my camera phone and include the frames! These are the Kawaii props used to set the cutesy theme in the "Japanese" cafe! The bling bling galore black berry phone and presumably water melon and kiwi ice cream. These are actually scoops of mash potatoes with food dye.
Location 2 : Studio at Ubi Make-up touch up. They changed the colour of my eyes from smoky brown to purple. My hair had to be curled again to achieve the "wavy effect".
The studio set-up and props preparation for "wind-blown Sakura petals" effect - A simple shot on tape but a lot of work behind the scenes. The studio was really huge (relative to the guy sitting on the chair), yet there was only so much moving and "dancing" we could do before our arms were "cut" off.
The actual shooting of Sakura blossoms - Its always good to work with someone you have chemistry with. Its so much easy to get the expressions and energy up.
